Dr. Hopper has studied and taught in the U.S. and Africa, including Zimbabwe, Togo, and Nigeria, and most recently in Malawi and Tanzania.

2017 Zimbabwe


In 2017 Dr. Hopper again traveled to Zimbabwe where he participated in the World Bible School Follow-Up Seminar in Harare, where there were over 125 WBS students in attendance and about 20 were baptized.   From there he taught and preached in churches in Marondera, Eastern Highlands, and the Mufakose church in Harare.   He held a two-day seminar at the Mutare School of Preaching where in attendance were students from Zimbabwe and ten preachers from South Sudan.

 


2016 PLANS

In  July 02 through 23, Dr. Hopper will travel back to Zimbabwe with a team from World Bible School.    His 2007 visit to Zimbabwe was his first trip to Africa and made a lifelong impression on him.   In Zimbabwe this year, plans are to  participate in WBS training and seminars, Gospel Chariot Campaigns, and do programs at Igava School near Marondera and a program at the Mutare School of Preaching.

Plans are being made for a return trip to western Kenya in August. 

2015

In 2015, Dr. Hopper accompanied a team from Healing Hands International to Arusha, Tanzania to assist in evaluating possible sources of water at Tanzania Christian Clinic and School.    He also visited the Andrew Coneally School of Preaching . 

 He re- visited western Kenya churches and schools.    He participated in a Gospel Chariot Campaign at Rariw  church of Christ, was the main speaker in a Gospel Chariot Campaign at Nyangi’ela church of Christ, where he also did a one-day Beatitudes seminar.    After a two-day photo-safari in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, he visited Bright Angels school, Joyland Christian School at the Rabuor Church of Christ, where he explored the story of Helen Keller with practical and spiritual applications.      He visited the home of Brother Chris Opondo, a preacher who lives in Kibera in Nairobi.    He visited the leaders of  the Maasai village of Olepolos, where he had previously participated in a church planting effort.  

From Kenya, he flew to Lilongwe, Malawi for a brief visit to a school which teaches sustainable agriculture and farming to inspect and advise them on how to rehabilitate a large reservoir embankment.    He made recommendations which have now been completed.
